Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler threw down in an MMA Rules match at SummerSlam, and it ended with the Baddest Woman on the Planet taking her first submission loss during her entire time with the company. Now, it appears that Ronda Rousey is moving on for good.
We previously reported that Ronda Rousey was saying “farewell for now.” That goodbye will likely be a very long one.
Ringside News reached out to confirm that Ronda Rousey is done with the company. We were told by a tenured member of the creative team that there are no plans for her right now. In fact, the team was told that she’s not available anymore.
We were told Ronda is not available moving forward. That probably means she’s finished for now as a performer in WWE.
Ronda Rousey has a lot of things going on outside WWE, and she’s also a millionaire. So, she can continue at home with her family and never really need to make a WWE return at all. She gave WWE a “hard out” date, and it appears that SummerSlam was that date.
Only time will tell if the wrestling bug bites Ronda Rousey again, and she makes her return to the company. As long as she maintains her current workout routine, getting back into in-ring shape shouldn’t be any issue for the life-long combat sports veteran. For now, WWE will carry on without her, as she gave a big win to her good friend Shayna Baszler on her way out.
