Sean Sapp noted behind Fightful’s paywall that IYO Sky’s Money in the Bank cash-in at SummerSlam was not a last-minute decision. That being said, it’s unclear when they told IYO about her big win.
We’re not told how far ahead IYO SKY was informed she’d be winning the title, but we were told it wasn’t a last minute booking decision.
IYO Sky will now carry the Women’s Championship, and a very interesting situation with Bayley is certain to develop as well. Only time will tell where this is all heading, but there are several options at play.
Bianca Belair could want that title back, as a short and frustrating reign like that could only give her more motivation for a heel turn. WWE is leaving things open, but they obviously have a plan. Now that IYO Sky is officially Women’s Champion, it appears that they are well on their way to getting to their desired destination.
