Gable Steveson’s insane performance at the Tokyo Olympics back in 2021 made him a household name. Because of this, he eventually signed with WWE he finally got some use during NXT last month. His in-ring debut didn’t go as planned as fans booed him out of the building and it appears Kurt Angle explained why he felt bad for Gable as well.

Steveston started appearing on NXT television, where he hit few German Suplexes. It was then confirmed that Gable Steveson will be squaring off against Baron Corbin at the Great American Bash, in what will be his first-ever WWE match.

During the Great American Bash match, fans completely turned on Gable Steveson and booed him throughout the match, shouting chants such as ‘You’re not Angle’ and many more. The match also ended in a very divisive manner.

While speaking on a recent edition of The Kurt Angle Show, the WWE Hall Of Famer made it clear that he felt badly for Gable Steveson but added that WWE is going in the right direction for Steveson.

“I feel badly for him because he’s being compared to me at this point in time, and he hasn’t even barely started, he just started out right now so I don’t know how his future is going to be.

I know he’s really talented, really athletic, I’m not sure how he is as far as entertainment-wise, but as far as in the ring I heard he’s really good.

So they’re gonna have him copy and mimic me, this is what I believe, they’re going to have him copy and mimic me, so he can piss the fans off, so that he starts out as a heel. because it’s easier to be heel starting out than it is babyface. So I think they’re the one who actually told him to do this stuff, I really believe that and I think the WWE is brilliant for doing it.”

We will have to see how Gable Steveson’s journey in WWE continues after all the negative reactions he got. After all, fans are only focused on booing Gable Steveson for the time being.
