AEW has seen a few people come through the company who used to work for WWE in one way or the other. This week’s AEW Collision saw an unexpected name show up backstage.

During the AEW Collision taping on Saturday night, which was held in Greenville, North Carolina, there was an interesting sighting backstage. Despite WWE’s SummerSlam event running simultaneously, AEW Collision managed to attract attention, with various notable names seen on camera or behind the scenes.

Among those unexpected names were former IMPACT Wrestling star Zicky Dice and wrestling legend Dennis Condrey. However, another intriguing person backstage was former WWE NXT Performance Center coach Cathy Corino, also known as Allison Danger.

Cathy Corino has an impressive wrestling background, being an original member of ROH and actively participating in the promotion’s inaugural segment in February 2002 during the Era of Honor Begins. She also played a significant role in the growth and development of SHIMMER Women’s Wrestling.

In 2021, Cathy joined WWE as a coach at the NXT Performance Center, but her tenure was relatively short-lived as she was released just a few months later in 2022. She has remained active in the pro wrestling world since then, and she’s obviously welcomed backstage at AEW.

We will have to keep watching this situation to see if there are any updates. At this point, you never know who will show up in AEW next. After all, Tony Khan is not opposed to spending money.
