Vince McMahon never missed a WWE event for the longest time when he ran the company’s day-to-day creative operations. That being said, things took a big turn when Triple H took over as Chief Creative Officer. Vince McMahon has been to a couple of big shows since, but he will not be at SummerSlam.

PW Insider confirmed that as you might expect, Vince McMahon will not attend tonight’s WWE SummerSlam event. Vince McMahon was also not at SummerSlam last year, because that event fell in the midst of his retirement from the company.

As previously reported, Vince McMahon had major spinal surgery last month. In spite of that, there were some in the company that still expected him to show up. He will not be there at the biggest party of the summer after all. He will be at home recovering, but it’s likely that he will still be watching.

WWE CEO Nick Khan revealed that Vince McMahon is taking a medical leave of absence. Interestingly enough, that spinal surgery went down days after McMahon was raided by authorities on a search warrant.

Ringside News will have complete coverage of SummerSlam, and all the aftermath as well. Only time will tell what fans will be talking about after SummerSlam is over, but Vince McMahon likely won’t have much to do with the conversation.
