WWE is presenting SummerSlam on August 5th in Detroit’s Ford Field. The biggest party of the summer begins at 8:00 PM EST, but a one-hour kickoff show will start the broadcast at 7:00 PM EST. That being said, WWE is trying their best to present a concise and packed show, and they brought a lot of Superstars into town.

According to Sean Sapp behind Fightful’s paywall, there are several talent in town for SummerSlam, even though they are not booked for the biggest party of the summer.
Interestingly enough, Omos has not been factored in creatively lately, but is in town. It was also noted that Maxxine Dupri is around Detroit for SummerSlam. Of course, as we previously reported, Becky Lynch did not show up for the big Detroit show.
It was also noted that Randy Orton is in Detroit. Ringside News exclusively reported that WWE has a hope for Randy Orton’s return to the company. That being said, it is not planned until after SummerSlam is well out of the way. We did not confirm the time-frame, but we were told his return is expected this year.
We will keep our eyes peeled for more on this ongoing story. Orton’s return will likely happen, even though he was advised by a doctor that he might want to hang up his boots. Cowboy Bob Orton, WWE Hall of Famer and father of Randy Orton, recently spoke to Bill Apter when his son came up in the conversation. Cowboy then revealed that The Viper’s doctors told him not to return.
That being said, Maximum Male Models were not brought in. Dominik Mysterio and Damian Priest were both brought in for the show as well, so fans might see Judgment Day at the biggest party of the summer. Chelsea Green is also in Detroit for the SummerSlam event.
Baron Corbin, although he has been on NXT in recent memory, was also brought in for SummerSlam. It was also noted that Mustafa Ali was not brought in. Also, Nikki Cross, Sarah Schreiber and Carmelo Hayes were sent to Philadelphia for a watch party.
We will have to see how SummerSlam pans out in Detroit. That is always a huge show, and this year should be no different. Keep checking back with us here at Ringside News for more, and as always, chime in by using the comments section below!
