Michael Cole Will Become ‘The Face’ Of WWE’s Product Going Forward

WWE television is about to see new announce teams, but there is a reason why the company made that call. It seems that they put a lot of thought and strategy into those new teams.

PW Insider reports that, “a big part of the reason were requests by Endeavor and WWE’s broadcast partners to have Michael Cole as the face of the product going forward.”

It was also noted that Kevin Patrick is incredibly well-liked in the company, but he could use a bit more time to really reach his peak. Wade Barrett is going to RAW, because he has such great chemistry with Michael Cole.

Kevin Patrick is extremely well liked internally, but the feeling is that he still needs some seasoning, so by placing him with Cole and Corey Graves on Smackdown, they will help him gain some more experience and find the voice and vibe the company wants out of their lead announcers.  We are told that it shouldn’t be seen as a demotion as much as a step back for long-term gains.

We are told that Wade Barrett being moved over to Raw is in part because his chemistry with Cole is so great that they wanted it on the three-hour broadcast.   

We will have to see how things pan out when the new teams take the air. Anything can happen on live television, and it appears that three-man broad team is coming back to WWE television for Michael Cole, Kevin Patrick, and Corey Graves.

WWE has seen several different announce teams make their way through the company, and some are remembered more fondly than others. It will be interesting to see how these new teams stack up with previous incarnations.
