Cody Rhodes came back to WWE at WrestleMania 38 last year and wasted no time in making an impact after defeating Seth Rollins in his return match. Rhodes has been on a roll since his return and fans continue to love him no matter what. Now it appears Rhodes made a huge claim recently.
The American Nightmare immediately began feuding with Brock Lesnar after WrestleMania 39. They both have one win over each order and will now battle it out in their trilogy match at SummerSlam.
The former AEW talent has certainly improved his in-ring and storytelling skills ever since he returned to Vince McMahon’s company. While speaking with GQ, Cody Rhodes claimed that he is 100% confident that he is the world’s best wrestler.
“Oh, 100 percent. I say it far less because I lost to Roman Reigns at WrestleMania, but it’s still how I feel,” Rhodes said. “When you’ve been put in a position where you’re main eventing a ‘Monday Night Raw’ or a WrestleMania, it does bring out a new side of you and it makes you hungrier to get it again and it makes you work at a different level. So, that’s why I always say I feel I’m the best there is in the world at this bell-to-bell, in every facet of what we do, because I’m driven to work that way. I can’t think I’m second best. That doesn’t motivate me. Thinking I’m the best is what motivates me.”
Cody Rhodes has clearly not forgotten his feud with Roman Reigns, but he has to deal with The Beast Incarnate at the WWE SummerSlam Premium Live Event this Saturday. We’ll have to wait and see how the match will turn out.
