Ronda Rousey returned during the 2022 Royal Rumble event after a nearly three-year absence from WWE. While Rousey won the Smackdown Women’s Championship twice since her return, she failed to get any desired reactions from the fans. Now it appears her WWE run is nearing its end.
During the Money In The Bank Premium Live Event, Shayna Baszler attacked Ronda Rousey in the final moments of the match, leading to Raquel and Morgan capitalising to win the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles back.
The two will now battle it out in a MMA Rules match at the WWE SummerSlam Premium Live Event. According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it was noted that there is no confirmation whether Rousey will leave WWE after SummerSlam. That said, she is expected to part ways with WWE relatively soon.
“It’s not confirmed whether this is Rousey’s last match in WWE for the time being, but her departure is coming relatively soon since they had to rush the turn angle.”
WWE was also forced to speed up plans for Ronda Rousey. We’ll have to wait and see whether Shayna Baszler will end up defeating Ronda Rousey, as it is likely Rousey will be done with WWE after SummerSlam.
