Adam Cole was on the shelf for 9 months after suffering a concussion last year but made a remarkable comeback earlier this year. While Cole has been an active competitor following his return, he penned an emotional message after being booked for the main event of AEW All In.
Adam Cole suffered a concussion at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door last year when he challenged Jay White for the IWGP World Heavyweight Title in a four-way match that also featured Kazuchika Okada and Hangman Page.
Adam Cole went through a lot of rehab and his recovery process seemed uncertain, as Cole was not even sure if he was going to compete in the ring ever again. Thankfully, Cole made his in-ring return against Daniel Garcia on the March 29 episode of AEW Dynamite.
As seen on this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite, it was officially confirmed that Adam Cole will be challenging MJF for the AEW World Champion in the main event of the All In pay-per-view in Wembley Stadium.
Adam Cole took to Twitter and reflected on coming back from almost retiring and now being in the main event of All In, in an emotional message.
9 months ago, I was terrified that I may never be able to wrestle again.
Now, me and one of my best friends go toe to toe for the most precious prize in our sport. At one of the biggest professional wrestling shows of all time.
Proud. ♥️
We will have to wait and see how AEW will book MJF and Adam Cole will continue their storyline as we head towards All In on August 27th.
