Kevin Owens is regarded as one of the top WWE Superstars and there is a good reason for that. Owens is currently on a career resurgence after becoming one-half of the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions. Now it appears he didn’t enjoy wrestling in 2018.

The Prizefighter has more than two decades of experience in the world of professional wrestling, having spent nine years in WWE so far. However, not all of his time in WWE has been to his benefit.

While speaking to Ariel Helwani of TNT Sports, Kevin Owens revealed that he stopped enjoying wrestling in 2018 as he wasn’t doing anything as significant as he would have liked. This included his feuds with Bobby Lashley and Braun Strowman.

2018 I thought was a really low point for me in WWE because I remember I wasn’t doing stuff that I thought was as important as it could’ve been. I thought I wasn’t being showcased the way I should be, which is something that everybody at one point in their career is going to go through and feel, right.

Nothing against those guys, but literally, I was just a crash test dummy. I did very well because I gave everything I had into it. But, it also took a toll on my body a lot, and at the end of 2018, I was like, ‘I think I need some time [off]’ because I wasn’t enjoying any of it.”

The Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championships won’t be defended at SummerSlam as Kevin Owens is out of action with a broken rib. We’ll have to wait and see when he will be medically cleared for an in-ring return.
