During the conference call to promote the company’s second quarter 2023 earnings report, Nick Khan revealed that sponsorships for WWE have experienced an impressive surge, with significant growth evident across various events. The exact numbers that they have brought in were not disclosed in the call.
It was said that Elimination Chamber’s sponsorships skyrocketed by an astounding 200%. WrestleMania set new records, while both Backlash and Money in the Bank saw substantial increases in sponsorship support. Notably, MITB proved to be the most successful international event ever in terms of sponsorships.
The success story does not end there. It was said that, by August, WWE has already secured its most prosperous sponsorship year on record, underscoring the company’s ability to attract valuable partnerships and further enhance its position in the sports entertainment landscape.
WWE is also deeply engaged in media rights talks for RAW and SmackDown. It’s anyone’s guess where WWE will land when those talks are finalized. Obviously, a lot of factors are at play. WWE is also hoping to have their merger with the UFC completed by the second half of 2023.
It was also noted during that call that Vince McMahon has taken a medical leave of absence. This is due to his spinal surgery, and Nick Khan made it clear that they are going to respect his privacy.
