Why WWE Removed Trish Stratus vs Becky Lynch Match From SummerSlam Card

WWE brought the go-home episode of RAW before SummerSlam this week, and they had a lot of things on the table for tonight’s show. That being said, they also had a little bit to tweak for biggest party of the summer’s card.

During WWE RAW this week, Rhea Ripley brought up Raquel Rodriguez in her promo. Then Raquel brought to to Rhea as the Texas crowd popped big time for her. This resulted in a brawl outside the ring.

In the end, Rhea Ripley left Raquel Rodriguez laying in pain, and the Judgment Day looked on, very satisfied. The two will now face each other at SummerSlam with Rhea Ripley’s title on the line. Adam Pearce then told Raquel that she would get a match when she is cleared.

WWE also changed up plans for Becky Lynch and Trish Stratus. That match was pulled from SummerSlam, and as Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio, that match was moved to Winnipeg.

They took the Trish Stratus match off. That match is being moved to Winnipeg, and that match was scheduled months ago. So, I don’t know if they timed through what they wanted, and they had to make some changes, because that Slim Jim Battle Royal was added, and they’re making a lot of money from that one.

It was also noted that Trish Stratus’ nose might not have healed up in time for SummerSlam. Her nose was also bleeding again during RAW this week, so we’ll have to see what WWE does in this situation.
