WWE is gearing up for a big SummerSlam event, and Seth Rollins is set to defend the World Heavyweight Championship against Finn Balor. Becky Lynch is also set to take on Trish Stratus in a match that fans have waited for since after WrestleMania. Rollins and Lynch are not involved with each other on-screen, but that is certainly not the case behind-the-scenes for the real-life pro wrestling power couple.

Seth Rollins spoke with SHAK Wrestling to promote SummerSlam. We have some transcribed highlights below and be sure to scroll down to watch the entire interview.

WWE tried to pair Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch in an on-screen angle four years ago. Things were much different then, as The Man and The Visionary were in much different places when it comes to their characters. That being said, Seth Rollins would love to do it again.

“We tried it four years ago. Our characters were in totally different places at the time. Our mindsets, just as human beings, were in totally different places. At the time, I was struggling. I didn’t know who I was on screen, off screen. I was going through a lot of self-doubt and depression. So for me, I was just kind of letting it all fly hoping something would stick, hoping I can catch on to something and I thought it would be good for all people involved.”
