Dominik Mysterio Sets His Sights on Gold in Judgment Day

Current NXT North American Champion Dominik Mysterio has ambitious goals for the future. He aims to hold on to his NXT title and is eager to add more gold to his collection in the coming year.

In a recent interview on UpNXT, Mysterio expressed his desire to pursue tag team gold with either Finn Balor or Damian Priest, two close allies who are also eyeing championship opportunities.

Finn Balor is set to challenge Seth Rollins for the WWE World Heavyweight Title at SummerSlam, and if he emerges victorious, Damian Priest, who holds the Money in the Bank briefcase, could potentially target Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship. With their friends focused on high-stakes title matches, Mysterio acknowledges that they may be preoccupied for a while. However, he remains optimistic about their chances of success.

Mysterio also appreciates the support of his mother, Rhea Ripley, who is currently the reigning WWE World Women’s Champion. While he acknowledges that she is already a world champion, he hopes to follow in her footsteps and achieve more gold for himself.

“I think in the next year, I’d definitely like to hold on to my NXT North American Title, for one. I think getting some tag team gold with one of my boys, whether it’s Finn or Damian. They’re probably going to be a little preoccupied because you know, we’ve got to take care of Seth first at SummerSlam. I think Finn is going to come out World Champion, and if that happens, Damian’s still got his briefcase, so he’s probably gonna go after Roman, so our boys are going to be busy. Worst case — not even worst case, best case. I got Mami, but Mami’s a World Champion. So, I don’t know, Judgment Day, we’ve got a lot on our plates. So within the next year or so, I’m just gonna say more gold around the Judgment Day.”

Recently, Dominik Mysterio successfully defended his NXT North American Championship at NXT Great American Bash, defeating Wes Lee and Mustafa Ali in a thrilling triple threat match.

With his determination and confidence, Mysterio is poised to make his mark on Judgment Day and aims to secure more championship gold in the near future.
