SummerSlam is set to take over Detroit’s Ford Field on August 5th. That show will be a massive gathering of pro wrestling fans, but will the be surprised by an appearance from The Rock?

Grayson Waller has taken the opportunity to fire several shots at The Rock in recent memory. The Great One even responded to throw a bit of shade back in return.

We previously reported that Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that, “I asked if there’s gonna be somebody else, and they said ‘I don’t know, maybe.’ So, who knows? I mean, he could do it. I don’t know if Dwayne Johnson will come back, but if he’s going to do it for something, it’s gonna be for 50,000 fans in Detroit, which is this show. I don’t know what he’s doing again, I know there’s a strike on and everything, but he’s always doing something.”

Ringside News asked about plans for The Rock at SummerSlam, and whether anything is being worked up for him and Grayson Waller. A tenured member of the creative team told us that, “if it’s true, which I doubt, it has not been shared with the writing staff.”

Grayson Waller has a lot going for him, and he’s obviously taking shots at The Rock for a reason. Those obvious nods are making their way to television, and there could be a reason for those shots. That being said, nothing has been discussed with the WWE creative team about any plans for The Great One at the biggest party of the summer.

The Rock’s music could pop 50k fans in Detroit’s Ford Field, and his presence could be made easier by an ongoing strike situation. There is still no definite that WWE will have The Rock back at SummerSlam.

WWE has a ton of plans for SummerSlam, and the date is approaching fast. We will have all the updates you need, right here at Ringside News. As always, please leave your comments below to be a part of the conversation!
