Jade Cargill commanded a ton of attention in AEW as the HBIC, but she might not return after her historic TBS Title reign ended. At this point, the ball seems to be 100% in her court.
Jade Cargill took a long hiatus after Kris Statlander beat her for the TBS Championship. This was a shocking move, and many fans are wondering how long it will be until Cargill returns.
During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that Jade Cargill is in a different position than some. She is married to pro baseball player Brandon Phillips, so she is in a different boat than others on the roster. At this point, she might not return at all.
I’ve heard a few things like she might not come back, is what she said, which is the last thing we heard. She wanted to take some time off, so it’s kinda like, you know. Sometimes I feel like, boy, they pushed her and pushed her and pushed her and they never put her in the big matches, and she’s gone.
It was noted that AEW pushed Jade Cargill for years, but they only gave her the TBS Title. At the same time, Cargill carried that title so long that she made it her own in a lot of way. Also, AEW seemingly has a storyline ready for her to come back if she wants to. At this point, it seems that is up in the air.
Only time will tell what happens with Jade Cargill and AEW. At this point, there doesn’t seem to be any noise from either side that would indicate a return. Then again, AEW is also known for their surprises.
What’s your take on Jade Cargill’s AEW status? Do you think she should come back? Sound off in the comments to let us know what you’re thinking!
