Thunder Rosa hasn’t been seen in an AEW ring since she was AEW Women’s World Champion. Her final match saw her take part in the winning side of a six-woman tag team match with Hikaru Shida and Toni Storm against Emi Sakura, Marina Shafir & Nyla Rose in October 2022. Now, it appears she is getting close to a return.
AEW fans were surprised to see Thunder Rosa show up during AEW Dynamite months ago, as she waited in line to see Tony Khan in his office. Her appearance was meant to plug Collision, and she will be a part of that roster once she is ready.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted that Thunder Rosa has been working hard toward her in-ring return. At this point, she is training on a regular basis.
Thunder Rosa has been back in the ring regularly training with Shoichi Funaki in San Antonio for her return.
Only time will tell when Thunder Rosa makes her way back to AEW television as an in-ring talent. She has given her voice to Spanish commentary in recent memory, so some fans have been able to get a dose of Thunder Rosa all this time on the other language setting.
We will have to see if Thunder Rosa returns on top of the AEW Women’s Division. After all, that is how she left. Now, Jamie Hayter is AEW Women’s World Champion, and sadly, her in-ring status is up in the air due to injury as well.
