Carlito was one of better known WWE Superstars during his time in the company, where he won championship gold a few times. Following his WWE release, he returned to the company only a couple of times in the last decade – with his Backlash return being the most well-received one. Now it appears that Kurt Angle explained why Carlito had a poor run in WWE.
Caribbean Cool joined Vince McMahon’s company back in 2003 and made his main roster debut in 2004, when he defeated John Cena for the United States Championship, in what was certainly a shocking move.
During his time in WWE, Carlito held the Intercontinental Championship, the United States Title, the WWE Tag Team Championship, and the World Tag Team Title. He was ultimately released in May 2010.
While speaking during the latest “The Kurt Angle Show, Kurt Angle stated that he believes Carlito had a poor run in WWE because he never had meetings with Vince McMahon.
He had all the talent in the world, never spoke up, [and] kept quiet. He didn’t fight for himself. You’ve got to do a little bit of fighting, not a lot but you’ve got to speak up and say, ‘Hey, I want my opportunity.’
He never had meetings with Vince. He just kept quiet,” Angle revealed. “When you’re not letting your voice be heard you become invisible, and that’s what happened.”
Carlito also signed a contract with WWE already. However, he was never supposed to return Carlito also signed a contract with WWE already. We’ll have to wait and see when he will return to WWE television.
