Chad Gable truly improved his position on WWE television once he got rid of his Shorty-G gimmick. Since then, he has competed at a level of technical excellence only a few are able to achieve. Even WWE Hall Of Famer Kurt Angle is a massive fan of Chad Gable. It appears he recalled the time Randy Orton’s eyes were bloodshot from screaming before a match.

The former Shorty G was doing a solid job as leader of Alpha Academy, as he competed in several solid matches over the past year. His pairing with Otis saw him win tag team gold and numerous accolades over the years.

The Alpha Academy feuded with Team RK-Bro back in early 2022. Riddle & Randy were the RAW Tag Team Champions, with Gable and Otis in hot pursuit. While speaking on After the Bell, Gable talked about learning from Randy Orton.

Chad Gable recalled the Spelling Bee segment where The Viper challenged him. He claimed that while it was a silly angle, Orton was always in character and Orton’s eyes were bloodshot from screaming before the match.

“Everybody puts Randy over. I’ve done it before, I know, he’s the greatest of all time. But man, playing off of him in the ring. There was one moment specifically, I remember. It was after the spelling bee when they got the best of us. I spelled a word wrong and Randy challenged me to a match. I looked in his eyes and he was so in the moment, like in character but in the moment. He was screaming at me like he’s challenging Chad Gable. The veins in his neck and his eyes were bloodshot from screaming at me. There was sweat dripping down. It was so surreal. He looked so pumped to go into this match. He was so invested in this storyline.”

Randy Orton is also in high spirits while he remains absent from WWE television. Ringside News exclusively reported that Randy Orton’s return to the squared circle is planned, but it might take a while. We’ll have to see when The Apex Predator will finally make his triumphant return to the squared circle.
