WWE Hall Of Famer Bully Ray is one of the most well-known tag team specialists in the world of professional wrestling, but he also has a solid in-ring career. He follows AEW closely and it appears he claimed that he could draw 1 million viewers for AEW Dynamite.
Jack Perry ended up turning heel on Hook after his match with Sanada at Forbidden Door – shocking fans in attendance in a big way. The two have been engaged in a bitter feud ever since.
He also defeated Hook for the FTW title last week on Dynamite and Jack Perry didn’t forget to gloat about that fact on Dynamite this week. Perry insulted Taz and ECW in general and this led to Jerry Lynn confronting him.
While speaking on Busted Open Radio, Bully Ray talked about the potential ECW angle the story could take. Ray then claimed that he or Tommy Dreamy could help draw 1 million viewers for AEW Dynamite if they are announced for the storyline.
“If the story went down the ECW road and I showed up in the right town, there’s monster business to be done there.
“This is not me blowing smoke up my own ass, if you announced that Bully Ray, or even Tommy Dreamer to the matter, were showing up on ‘AEW Dynamite’ on whatever week it was, to come face-to-face and confront Jack Perry, you’re doing over a million viewers. Guaranteed.
“Tommy fits the part the best. Him and Taz were the bestest of best friends, Tommy was Taz’ best man at his wedding. The story is so deep, it’s there if you want to go down the ECW road. If you do go down that ECW road, you will make Jack Perry a bigger star at the end of this story than you can with any other talent that’s in AEW right now.”
We will have to wait and see whether Jack Perry’s storyline will end up involving ECW alumni such as Bully Ray or Tommy Dreamer, as it would certainly spice up the storyline in a big way.
