Seth Rollins made history as he became WWE World Heavyweight Champion at Night of Champions in Saudi Arabia. He followed that up with a nice run so far, and he will put himself to the test once again against Finn Balor at SummerSlam. Rollins has that title because Roman Reigns was unbeatable, but that’s not Rollins’ game plan.

Over a decade ago, Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins embarked on their WWE journey together as part of The Shield. However, over time, both superstars have evolved into colossal figures within the company, establishing themselves as the biggest stars in WWE. Recently, Seth Rollins, also known as The Visionary, discussed his current reign as World Heavyweight Champion and made it clear that he has no intention of emulating The Tribal Chief’s approach to championship success.

Roman Reigns achieved a momentous milestone, surpassing 1000 days as champion at WWE Night of Champions 2023. On the RAW brand, Seth Rollins became the inaugural World Heavyweight Champion of the Modern Era at the same event, carrying the title over to the red brand.

In an interview with Complex, while doing some shoe shopping, the reigning World Heavyweight Champion shed light on his title run, highlighting the stark differences between his approach and that of his counterpart on Friday Night SmackDown, The Tribal Chief, Roman Reigns. Seth Rollins’ reign has been characterized by numerous title defenses in a relatively short span of less than two months, showcasing a distinct style and strategy compared to Reigns’ reign in 2023.

“For me, I grew up watching guys like Triple H, Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels, Ric Flair, and all these guys who were champions’ champions. They took the title to every different city, every different territory and they defended it. That’s how the title built prestige. So for me, to follow in their footsteps, I don’t wanna do what Roman’s doing, Roman’s doing what he’s doing and he’s doing it incredible. I ain’t trying to be Roman, I’m trying to be the only thing I know how to be and that’s Seth ‘Freakin’ Rollins.”

WWE might not want to have Seth Rollins carry that title forever, because it might create another unbeatable champion situation, something they are trying to avoid again. That being said, Seth Rollins looks great with the World Heavyweight Championship in the meantime, no matter how long he holds that title.

SummerSlam is an event where WWE likes to sometimes reset things. It could be interesting with Seth Rollins vs Finn Balor and Damian Priest around with the Money in the Bank briefcase in play. Then again, anything can happen in WWE.
