Rey Mysterio Will Take NXT North American Title Off Dominik Mysterio If Given The Chance

Rey Mysterio is a true veteran in the world of professional wrestling, and his influence in the industry is undeniable. That said there is a lot of animosity between himself and his son Dominik Mysterio. Now it appears he is determined to beat his son for the NXT North American Title if given the chance.

The Master of the 619 has been engaged in a feud with his son Dominik Mysterio ever since Dominik Mysterio turned on him at WWE Clash At The Castle last year. Rey Mysterio would also defeat his son at WrestleMania 39 earlier this year.

Dominik Mysterio became the NXT North American Champion on last week’s episode of NXT and defended it a couple of times already. While speaking on WWE’s The Bump, Titus O’Neil asked Mysterio whether he is proud of “Dirty” Dominik.

The Master of the 619 made it clear that he is very proud of his son but added that he is determined to beat his son for the NXT North American Title if given the chance.

“Titus, you’re a father, and you know how it is. Sometimes, when you fight with your kids, or your kids do the wrong things, and you gotta put them in place. That’s happened for the past year with Dom and myself, and not just myself but my wife as well. Despite the issues that we might have in our family, you can’t even imagine the amount of pride and joy that I feel every time he accomplishes something. That still doesn’t take away the fact that he’s disrespected his whole family, and I’m hoping that one day, that will all change.

The fact that he’s succeeding and becoming his own person, he’s already his own person. You don’t know how many times I would have loved to call him up and say, ‘Congratulations, son, you’re really killing it.’ But it hurts. Unfortunately, I can’t do it, and that really hurts. I wish things would be different. But as a father, despite our differences. I’m extremely proud of what he’s doing and what he’s conquering. He just better not step in the ring with me because I will take that North American Title.’

Dominik Mysterio is truly coming into his own as a WWE Superstar. We’ll have to wait and see what’s next in store for him, as fans certainly love to hate him right now.
