Jim Ross is beloved for AEW fans, and pro wrestling scholars will be studying his commentary style for the rest of time. He has seen a lot in the business, but sadly, his health isn’t what it used to be. Now, we have a health update on Good ole JR.
Since the debut episode of AEW Collision on June 17th, WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross has been out of action due to a fall he experienced before the show. The incident had a significant impact on his performance, leading him to take time off for healing. Ross disclosed that he likely suffered a concussion as a result of the fall. While he doesn’t have a confirmed date for his return to AEW, he expressed his hope to be back for AEW All In.
During a recent episode of his Grilling JR podcast, Ross provided an update on his health while discussing his visit to Oklahoma. He mentioned that he is making progress in his recovery, indicating that he is on the road to improvement.
“It’s been good. The chiropractor visit has been very well-timed. I got another one later today. I’m sore as hell. I feel like I got beat up, with just pushing and prodding and twisting and so forth. But I’ve gotten some good, timely relief on the sciatica, which is a bitch. Those of you who have had to experience know exactly what I’m taking about. I went like three days, I couldn’t walk. I crawled or I limped, or I pulled myself here or there. I got me a walking stick, goddamn, I hate that. So anyhow, it’s better. My radiation wound seems to be healing, but it’s just so slow. They’re very concerned about infection, which I don’t want to get that infected because that’s not good business. So I’m on some heavy ass antibiotics. One more treatment today, then I’ll fly back to Jacksonville on Thursday as we’re talking here today, and move on. So it’s all good.”
AEW fans certainly miss Jim Ross on commentary, but Tony Khan also realizes that the legend needs a break. Thankfully, Jim Ross seems to have a ton of support within AEW so he can get his health in check.
