Cody Rhodes and Brandi Rhodes had their daughter, Liberty, while he was away from WWE. That being said, their daughter already knows what WrestleMania is, but Cody Rhodes isn’t sure he’s ready to go in-depth about that subject with his daughter yet.
Cody Rhodes lives his life with his gimmick tattooed on his neck. The American Nightmare logo is prevalent wherever he goes at this point. It seems that his daughter understands the significance of that logo, but she doesn’t have all the dots connected yet.
While speaking to the SI Media podcast, Cody Rhodes was asked about his daughter’s reaction to his neck tattoo. After all, she will always know her father with that tattoo. Cody Rhodes admitted that Liberty says: “WrestleMania” whenever she sees that logo, and that might be as far as they will go in explaining things for now.
“Sure. She says WrestleMania. So, whenever she sees the logo, the tattoo. Anything, everything I do is WrestleMania. Because she never saw anything other than when we brought her to WrestleMania. And she’s still a big-time early sleeper, nap time is structured and all that. So, she’s not getting, we’re not letting her go on YouTube and check out any of the stuff that’s going on, on RAW or SmackDown. Because I don’t know if I’m ready for the conversation yet, and she’s only two, right? A very smart two-year-old.”
Cody Rhodes and Brandi Rhodes’ daughter will certainly understand the pro wrestling business in time. After all, the sport is in her family legacy in a big way. Hopefully, when the time comes for Cody Rhodes to really tell his daughter about his business, the conversation goes well.
Pro wrestling fans can also be very mean, brutal, opinionated, and cold. That being said, it’s probably for the best that Cody Rhodes protects his daughter from that world for as long as he can. After all, pro wrestling social media can be a very tricky place to navigate.
What’s your take on what Cody Rhodes had to say about his daughter? Would you hold off on exposing her to the pro wrestling business too? Sound off in the comments to let us know what you think!
