Rhea Ripley Competing On WWE NXT This Week

Rhea Ripley and Judgment Day have brought a lot of attention to NXT, and the company wants to keep that momentum going. Now, the Nightmare is slated to take on a superstar of tomorrow in the company’s developmental brand.

The impact of Judgment Day continues to reverberate across WWE brands, and tonight’s episode of NXT will feature none other than the WWE Women’s World Champion, Rhea Ripley. The match for July 25’s NXT episode was announced on social media immediately after the July 24 episode of WWE Raw.

In the video below this news report, Rhea Ripley’s interview was unexpectedly interrupted by NXT’s Lyra Valkyria, who sought to prove herself by facing Ripley directly. Valkyria even sacrificed her match with Jacy Jayne for the chance to go up against the WWE Women’s World Champion.

While the segment was taped during Raw last night, it wasn’t televised and was solely shared on social media. It appears that the upcoming match between Ripley and Valkyria on NXT will be a non-title match.

This week’s episode of WWE NXT will start with Rhea Ripley appearing alongside the new North American Champion, “Dirty” Dominik Mysterio. That should give fans a reason to watch from the beginning of the show this week.

We will have to see if this match pops a rating. After all, it’s not every week that fans get to see Rhea Ripley compete in her old NXT stomping grounds.
