WWE brings a ton of business to any city that hosts a WrestleMania event. At this point, the showcase of the immortals is a paid show, and WWE knows its value. That being said, the company is closing in on a host for their 41th show.
Although John Cena drummed up a ton of hype for London to get a WrestleMania event, that isn’t the plan for Mania 41. As of this writing, they are eyeing another location in the United States.
Sean Sapp reported behind Fightful’s paywall that WrestleMania is heading to a first-ever location. That location looks to be Minneapolis right now, and there is a huge stadium ready to host the show of shows.
Fightful Select has learned that Minneapolis has been heavily discussed within the company as a possible and even likely location for WrestleMania 41 in 2025. Minneapolis city planners had actually leaked this news to local media, but when Fightful asked WWE officials months ago, they confirmed that Minneapolis was one of several cities that had interest. There were reps on behalf of the city who were at Sofi Stadium for WrestleMania 39.
We’re told that U.S. Bank Stadium would be the location, as temperature and baseball season could prevent the possibility of Target Field. U.S. Bank stadium has a dome, and seats well over 73,000 for Minnesota Vikings football games. WWE told us that they view U.S. Bank Stadium as a world class venue, and have heard that they’re getting more aggressive in getting non-Vikings related events in the huge stadium.
It was also noted that, “there was a situation a few years ago where some involved with the city cost themselves a shot at WrestleMania, by leaking that the show was going to be there.”
As we previously reported, WWE is closing in on a Royal Rumble location as well. Hopefully, the company will stack an amazing show, no matter where they host those big future events.
PWInsider reported this week that Tampa was being considered for the Royal Rumble, but talent we’ve spoken to have said that as of last week when they asked where it would be at, they were told that information couldn’t be provided as of yet. Those we’ve spoken to say that Tampa has been a front runner for quite some time.
