There has been a ton of anticipation surrounding this final match in the US Title tournament. While some expect WWE legend Rey Mysterio to emerge victorious, others predict that Santos Escobar will seize the opportunity to defeat his mentor and secure an official title shot.

Recent developments at the house show in Mexico City, Mexico on July 22nd might shed light on WWE’s plans for the next US Title feud. During the event, Santos Escobar challenged Austin Theory for the US Title in front of his home-country crowd but fell short.

This could be a sign that WWE is testing out a US Title match with Austin Theory and Santos Escobar. After all, they have done this several times in the past to make sure that things are smooth when the match matters most.
