Austin Theory will have quite a match in store for him, as he faces one of two members from the LWO. That being said, we might have an idea how that match will end between the two stablemates in the finals.

The upcoming finals will feature an all-LWO event, with Rey Mysterio scheduled to face Santos Escobar on the July 28th episode of SmackDown. That pairing was quite surprising for a lot of fans. Then again, we previously reported that WWE is seriously considering Latino champion.

There has been a ton of anticipation surrounding this final match in the US Title tournament. While some expect WWE legend Rey Mysterio to emerge victorious, others predict that Santos Escobar will seize the opportunity to defeat his mentor and secure an official title shot.

Recent developments at the house show in Mexico City, Mexico on July 22nd might shed light on WWE’s plans for the next US Title feud. During the event, Santos Escobar challenged Austin Theory for the US Title in front of his home-country crowd but fell short.

This could be a sign that WWE is testing out a US Title match with Austin Theory and Santos Escobar. After all, they have done this several times in the past to make sure that things are smooth when the match matters most.

WWE has historically used the house show circuit to test potential rivalries before bringing them to TV, suggesting that Escobar’s encounter with Theory could be a precursor to a more significant feud on television. This has fueled speculation that Escobar might ultimately win the US Title Invitational.

Santos Escobar is heading into the final with significant momentum, having pinned champion Austin Theory on the July 21st episode of SmackDown. Only time will tell if he can beat his mentor Rey Mysterio at this point.
