WWE has seen a few new things come to the company in recent memory, and their events got a bit longer in the process as they introduced media scrums after big events. This was something that AEW was already doing, and many fans noticed when WWE took up the trend as well.

Fans and pro wrestling reporters alike gather for WWE’s media scrums after the company’s big evens. It seems that Cody Rhodes put a word in the ear of someone of influence in the company, and before we knew it those media conferences were a thing.

Cody Rhodes spoke to Fightful for an interview, and the full thing will be out July 31st. In the preview notes that Sean Sapp dropped behind Fightful’s paywall, it appears that the question was answered about how those media scrums came to be in WWE.

Sean mentioned how Cody brought back the media calls and scrums to wrestling. Cody said Brandi was responsible for bringing it to AEW. Cody mentioned that they brought it back in WWE because he talked about it with former WWE Vice President of Communications Adam Hopkins. He told Hopkins they should do it after WrestleMania 38. Cody said they had a beautiful turnout for it.

WWE’s conferences after the shows is certainly giving fans something new to watch after the events. Its also gives pro wrestling journalists a lot more to write about, because those questions cover a wide array of topics.

Triple H is also usually featured during those media conferences in some way, as he usually takes up a majority of the time fielding questions. It would be hard to imagine Vince McMahon doing the same thing with those media conferences.

What’s your take on WWE’s media conferences? Do you watch them every time, or do you think it’s too much storyline? Sound off in the comments to let us know what you’re thinking!
