Kris Statlander is undoubtedly one of the veterans of the AEW women’s division as she has worked incredibly hard to gain respect in the company. She suffered an injury last year but finally returned at AEW Double or Nothing to win the TBS Championship. She continues to be a highlight of AEW television and it appears Statlander disclosed why she uses sign language on AEW television.

Kris Statlander shocked the world when she returned during AEW Double or Nothing and managed to beat Jade Cargill for the TBS Championship. Not only did she win the title, but she ended Jade Cargill’s undefeated streak as well.

Fans may have noticed the fact that Kris Statlander will sign to the camera and crowd before and after matches on AEW television. While speaking on High Spots Sign It Live, Statlander was asked why she does sign language on television.

“There is not a story. I just thought it would be cool and different. I’m not fluent in it, but I do know some basic sentences and stuff. I just thought it would be something different and you don’t see it often. That’s really all there is to it. I don’t know anyone that is deaf. I didn’t really have a reason to learn it
