WWE really loves the fact that they are on FOX, and they use that to the best of their ability to rake in advertising revenue. That being said, they aren’t pulling down the same numbers that other shows do in the same time slot.

Live sports is kind with advertisers, but apparently, WWE isn’t cashing in like they could with SmackDown. This might have led them to look for other possible partners for their next television deal.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter included a very interesting note about WWE’s current television rights deals. The famous pro wrestling publication noted that WWE SmackDown actually draws about 30% less than all of their competition.

Even though SmackDown is the highest rated show every Friday, its ads are still priced 30 percent lower than those on CBS, NBC and ABC on shows that draw far less

WWE still makes quite a lot of money with SmackDown, but it’s easy to see why they would want to make more elsewhere. Only time will tell what happens with the company’s next set of television rights deals, but it is apparent that they will keep going strong into the future.
