Vince McMahon made headlines back in June 2022 for all the wrong reasons after it was revealed that he secretly paid $3 million in a hush-money scandal. It was all downhill for McMahon, as he was eventually forced to retire from the company he helped build. Of course, McMahon made his way back into the news later on after a couple of other allegations resurfaced. Many people were not happy with this decision and it appears many WWE figures had moral misgivings over McMahon’s return.

Vince McMahon was accused of sexual assault by former WWE referee Rita Chatterton, who accused him of the act back in 1992. Things did not end just there either as a lot of developments took place.

In November 2022, McMahon’s attorney received a letter from Chatterton, in which she demanded $11.75 million in compensation for the alleged assault after her allegations were brought back to the public’s attention in 2022. McMahon eventually reached multi-million dollar settlement with Chatterton.

In addition to that, Vince McMahon was also hit with a lawsuit by a spa manager. It has been a while since the allegations and some people seem to have forgotten them after McMahon returned to WWE and eventually sold it to UFC’s parent company Endeavor

It was previously reported that WWE signed Eric Young to new contract in November last year, but he never debuted again. After Vince McMahon returned to WWE, Young wanted nothing to do with WWE and work under him. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer noted that Young wasn’t the only person to have moral issues with McMahon returning.

“The illusion was it was Vince McMahon’s return to power that he had a moral issue with. There were others who had expressed to us misgivings over that, some serious, but none who were going to quit their jobs over it.”

Eric Young also explained why he couldn’t work at WWE anymore. Vince McMahon is already back in the Creative department in ways. Regardless, Vince McMahon will continue to do what he wants to and that’s unlikely to ever change.
