AEW presented Blood & Guts this week, and it was quite an episode of Dynamite. That being said, the card was filled when men’s wrestling, with only a fraction of time for the women.

Britt Baker took on Kayla Sparks during the Blood & Guts show in Boston. That match didn’t get very much time at all, as Britt Baker won with ease, in rapid fashion as well.

Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that Britt Baker vs Kayla Sparks was so short, because AEW wanted to keep fans from complaining that there were no women’s matches on the card that night.

The thing is that they had to block off that last hour-plus for the Blood & Guts match, and they didn’t want to do a short match with Jungle Boy, or anyone else. So, this is all the time they had left.

So, this is to pacify those stopwatch people, who would complain about there not being a women’s match.

Tony Khan already fielded a question about why AEW didn’t book a women’s Blood & Guts match this year. Only time will tell if that changes next year, or if they will have just as much time for females on the lineup.

AEW is doing their best to present compelling pro wrestling, but it’s hard to keep everyone happy. At least they were able to squeeze out a little bit of time so Boston fans could see Britt Baker win that squash match.

Britt Baker has a lot to offer AEW, but should she be the company’s Women’s Champion? Sound off in the comments to let us know what you’re thinking!
