The WWE is full of talented Superstars who have competed in numerous companies over the years before calling WWE their home. That said, a lot of talent have also left the company for various reasons. This includes Matt Cardona, who was released by WWE and has since become a major name in the independent circuit. Now it appears Cardona doesn’t rule out returning to WWE.

In case you forgot, Matt Cardona was known as Zack Ryder during his time in WWE. He didn’t break the glass ceiling there and was unable to truly break out as a star there. He was eventually released by WWE in 2020 and went on to become the Indy God in the independent circuit.

Ringside News also exclusively reported that Matt Cardona is on WWE’s radar for a return. That said, there is no guarantee he will end up signing with Vince McMahon’s company anytime soon.

While speaking with Sam Roberts for Busted Open Radio, Matt Cardona made it clear that he doesn’t rule out returning to WWE somewhere down the line.

Listen, I am the Indy God, the Deathmatch King, right. First of all, it was about [Chelsea]. I didn’t go there for me. So I didn’t want to be backstage, I didn’t want to look like I was begging for a job. I made sure John Cone snuck me in and snuck me out. So I was watching and I was super proud of her winning the titles. But yeah, like, fuck, I want to walk out in a sold-out arena. It’s great. I’m the Indy God. My dream wasn’t to be a big fish in a small pond. My dream wasn’t to be a pro wrestler. My dream was to be a WWE superstar. So of course, listen, my phone’s working. If there’s a 203 number calling, I’ll pick up, and we’ll have a conversation. But Sam, we walked about the three C’s. But we’ll see what happens. Hey, to quote the great Justin Bieber, ‘Never say never.”

Matt Cardona also believes he will return to WWE eventually. We will have to wait and see whether fans will finally get to see Matt Cardona finally make his return to WWE one day.

What’s your opinion on what Matt Cardona said? Do you think he will eventually sign with WWE? Let us know in the comments!
