Cody Rhodes came back to WWE at WrestleMania 38 last year and wasted no time in making an impact after defeating Seth Rollins in his return match. Rhodes is one of the biggest names in Vince McMahon’s company right now. That said, it appears there is concern that fans might turn on The American Nightmare due to the John Cena effect.

There is simply no denying the fact that Cody Rhodes is one of the most over babyfaces in WWE right now. Rhodes always looks dapper and cuts sophisticated promos while reminding fans he is the grandson of a plumber.

While speaking on Busted Open Radio, WWE Hall Of Famer Tommy Dreamer said Rhodes is “being groomed as the top babyface.” Dreamer then noted that Seth Rollins and Finn Balor are also Being presented as viable stars to beat Roman Reigns, which doesn’t make Rhodes winning as cut and dry.

Tommy Dreamer then worried about the ‘John Cena Effect,’ making it clear he is concerned that if the crowd knows that Cody Rhodes is going to be the chosen face of the company, they could turn on him before he ever gets a chance to beat Roman Reigns.
