The drastic change in the character of Roman Reigns over the years has been well documented. He went from being an utterly dull babyface to one of the most compelling heels in WWE. Now it appears some believe WWE should not have turned Reigns heel any earlier.
Roman Reigns was an eyesore for many when he was a babyface and fans and pro wrestlers alike agreed with this notion. This is in spite of the fact that Reigns competed in high profile matches against the very best.
Many people agree that turning Roman Reigns heel has been the best decision WWE has made in a decade. That said, others wanted him to turn heel easier, especially back in 2015.
While speaking during the latest episode of Oh…You Didn’t Know, Road Dogg talked about Roman Reigns’ growth in WWE. Dogg stated that he believes WWE should not have turned Reigns heel any earlier.
“No, I don’t think so. You gotta let stuff sit, you gotta let stuff simmer. I know that’s unpopular in today’s day and age, where I can get whatever I want, and I can get it right now. Sometimes you gotta sit on this, and see which way the wind blows. Boy, it blew in the right direction, because look [at] where we stand now, and where he stands now — as an individual and superstar.
People hated him, they hated him. They hate him now, and yet everybody in the soldout arena, of which there are a lot of them now, acknowledges him on the weekly. They listen to his every word, they are hanging on his every word, and every facial [expression] in these in-ring promos.”
