AEW likes to make sure that fans have an action-packed night whenever they attend events. This sometimes includes matches that the public don’t see on television, but AEW could have something in store for those matches after all.

Although dark matches are not shown on television, it appears that they are still filmed. Now, it seems that AEW is adding another layer of production on those matches that fans aren’t usually going to find on their televisions.

Sean Sapp dropped quite a note behind Fightful’s paywall. It was noted that AEW has started to record commentary for some of those matches prior to the company’s television events that fans never saw on television.

AEW started doing commentary over dark matches that air before AEW Dynamite in some instances, we’re told.

AEW used to have two dark shows, AEW Dark and AEW Dark Elevation. Those shows were both cancelled when Warner Bros Discovery attained full rights for the company’s library. Now, it appears those dark matches might see the light of day after all.

We will have to see if AEW starts using those dark matches in some way. Obviously, there are a ton of talented performers who are all honing their craft with Tony Khan’s company. Only time will tell what’s next for their plans.
