Matt Cardona, formerly known as Zack Ryder during his time in WWE, never realized his full potential in the company. He was subsequently released back in 2020 and in the three years since then, he truly became a whole different professional wrestler. That said, Cardona is open to having a conversation with WWE and AEW.

Following his WWE release, Cardona went to work in various companies, including AEW. He had a brief stint in Tony Khan’s company consisting of six matches, where he mostly teamed up with Cody Rhodes.

Matt Cardona truly reinvented himself in the independent circuit. Cardona especially made a name for himself in Impact Wrestling and GCW, where he became the World Champion in the latter promotion.

While speaking with Steve Fall of WrestlingNews.co, the former WWE Superstar talked about returning to WWE or AEW if the opportunity ever arises. Cardona made it clear that he is open to having a conversation with WWE and AEW.

“If WWE or AEW, or Marvel Studios, whoever calls me up right now, I’d have a conversation, right? But it’s all about the two C’s, the cash and creative.”

Matt Cardona recently came out as a parody of The Undertaker during a GCW event. Regardless, WWE is also on his radar and only time will tell whether Cardona will return to AEW or WWE somewhere down the line.
