Mercedes Mone’s decision to leave WWE was still gaining steam, and she was set to win another title in NJPW. Then, an ankle injury took her out of action. At this point, she’s not telling anyone how bad it really is.

We previously reported that Mercedes Mone was walking with the assistance of crutches and a walking boot backstage at Slammiversary. The former Sasha Banks was around for Trinity’s Knockouts Title Win.

During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer said that Mercedes Mone is not talking about her injury status at all. There are plans for her comeback, but it’s unclear how long that wait will be.

“So she has been quiet about everything. She was at the Impact Wrestling Slammiversary pay-per-view….I know she still had crutches, and she had a walking boot on, so the presumption is that she had surgery, but she is still on crutches. We haven’t heard anything about a timetable. Obviously, the plan, when she’s ready, is to wrestle Giulia, who won the NJPW Strong Women’s Championship from Willow Nightingale.”

This is interesting, and we’re hoping for the best. After all, there are already plans for her when she is able to make a return to the ring.

Mercedes Mone and Tony Khan might have something in the works as well. TK couldn’t talk about any specifics, but he was a bit coy when asked about the subject during one of AEW’s media scrums.

We will have to see what the future holds for Mercedes Mone. Her name could help bring a lot of attention to any ring she wrestles in at this point.
