Don Callis was introduced shortly before he helped Kenny Omega win the AEW World Championship back at AEW Dynamite Winter Is Coming 2020. Callis is now Kenny Omega’s biggest enemy and this led to Callis getting attacked by a fan during AAA Triplemania XXXI. Now it appears Callis is unlikely to miss Dynamite after the fan attack.
As previously reported, Vikingo squared off against Kenny Omega in the main event of the show and won the match. Afterwards, there was a post-show press conference where Kenny Omega was confronted by Don Callis. This led to Konosuke Takeshita attacking Omega in order to continue their feud ahead of AEW Blood & Guts.
However, Don Callis was legitimately attacked by a fan during the post-show conference. Callis even suffered some injuries and had to be taken to the hospital. This made fans wonder if he will be missing out on Dynamite this week.
While speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer addressed Don Callis’ health status following the fan attack. Meltzer noted that Callis is unlikely to miss out on AEW Blood & Guts this week as he didn’t suffer any serious injury.
He’s okay. He got hurt but he’s okay, I don’t think he has any major injuries, nothing that’s going to keep him from being at Blood and Guts in Boston on Wednesday. Based on what I last heard today was that he’s hurt but okay.
The whole attack was all a big misunderstanding as well. Regardless, it is good to know Don Callis did not suffer any grave injuries and will be able to appear on Dynamite this week.
