Shawn Michaels is undoubtedly one of the best in-ring performers to have ever stepped foot inside a WWE ring. Shawn was touted as Mr. WrestleMania and he truly lived up to the moniker. That being said, it appears Michaels admited that the pro wrestling business is softer now.

The Undertaker’s controversial comments regarding the current pro wrestlers and the product back in 2021 became a huge topic discussion. He previously said that the WWE Superstars of the current era are not ‘real men’ compared to the wrestlers back in his era.

The Deadman even added that wrestlers from his era were far tougher. Even last year, The Undertaker double down on his controversial comments, stating that pro wrestlers nowadays lack grit.

While speaking on K&C Masterpiece, Shawn Michaels was asked asked if he ever had to tell NXT talent some “back in my day” stories if they complained to him about traveling around Florida. Michaels would admit that the pro wrestling business is softer now but healthier as well.

Every now and then when they complain about much of anything, we give them a little come to Jesus chat,” Michaels said with a laugh. “I’m pretty good about not being the bitter old timer. I screwed up a bunch and try to show them the error of particular ways. It’s a different business. Some of it is for the better. It’s a much healthier atmosphere than it was when I started. There are some people who argue that it makes them a little softer. I can’t disagree with that in some respects, but at the same time, it doesn’t mean that it can’t be better and can’t be shaped up. We have a great culture here that Hunter [Triple H] put in place a decade ago. It’s something we continue to build on.

Every now and then, we need to remind them of just how great it is to do this line of work, how good it is they have to do it and obviously getting the opportunity to jump outside the state of Florida and come to the state of Texas is going to be a blast for everybody.”

Shawn Michaels is more than happy to be working in his current role in NXT and he would not have it any other way right now.
