CM Punk was booed when he made his way to the ring in Calgary, but he also had a few fans behind him. Needless to say, Punk is a divisive character, no matter where he is.

Ricky Starks was ready to prove that he was on CM Punk’s level. In the end, the two had around twenty-minutes to tell their story in the ring. To add even more to the moment, CM Punk rocked pink ring gear in Calgary, just like Bret “Hitman” Hart.

Ricky Starks and CM Punk got the Calgary crowd to a fever pitch many times throughout the match. In the closing moments, Punk called for a GTS, but Starks was able to avoid it. This was after Punk nailed a piledriver for a two count.

Suddenly, CM Punk latched on a frontface lock on Ricky Starks, and then Absolute was able to get to the ropes to break things up. In the end, they traded near-falls and Ricky Starks ended up winning the match.

This was a huge moment for Absolute Ricky Starks, a career-defining victory, to say the least. Needless to say, CM Punk was not happy at all.

In the women’s side of the bracket, Willow Nightingale was able to avoid the heel tactics from the Outcasts, and she pulled down the win after a powerbomb over Ruby Soho.
