Mercedes Mone was set to win the NJPW Strong Women’s Title, a championship that was made for her. Willow Nightingale actually won that title as an improvised move, a decision they have already reversed as Willow lost the title recently. It appears that there are already plans in place for Mercedes’ return.

Mercedes Mone lost that match to Willow because she was injured. Despite that setback, Mercedes Mone finished the match, and now she is waiting to recover after an ankle injury.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted that Mercedes Mone is set to face Giulia whenever she returns from injury. It isn’t exactly clear how long that will take before Mercedes is medically cleared.

“Even people who you would think need to know don’t know the exact time line for a Mercedes Mone return. The plan right now is that when she returns, she will face Giulia for the New Japan Strong title.”

Mercedes Mone might have plans in AEW when the time is right. Tony Khan didn’t seem to say no to the idea. After all, she could bring a lot of attention to the brand. Only time will tell what goes down at this point, but it is apparent that Mercedes Mone will keep doing her thing once she is ready.

WWE could always be an option for Mercedes Mone, but she didn’t make that call to return before. The pro wrestling world could be open for Mercedes Mone at this point, but she still needs to get over that pesky injury situation.
