Mark Briscoe’s injury will have significant implications on Ring of Honor’s creative plans moving forward.
Briscoe was expected to be prominently featured as one of the top stars in the promotion. However, he recently suffered a knee injury that will likely require surgery, leading to major changes in ROH’s creative direction.
In response to this setback, Ringside News has learned that AEW and ROH will announce a new challenger for the ROH World title after the Blood and Guts episode of AEW Dynamite, which will air on Wednesday.
In addition, the next challenger for the ROH TV title, currently held by Samoa Joe, will be revealed on next week’s episode of ROH TV. The match to determine the challenger will be between Dalton Castle and Shane Taylor.
These title matches are scheduled to take place at the Death Before Dishonor event, slated for July 21 at the CURE Insurance Arena in Trenton, NJ. Wrestling fans can look forward to the new challengers vying for championship gold in what promises to be an action-packed event.
