Jim Ross is a WWE Hall of Famer and was the voice of several generations of fans, as he gave decades of his life to the business. Ross has been part of numerous iconic moments in the business, and he continues to be respected even now. He has been with AEW since day one, but it appears he slammed announcers who use pronouns all the time.

Due to his veteran status, Jim Ross is well aware of how the pro wrestling world functions and how certain things in AEW can be perceived. Naturally, whatever Jim Ross says carries a lot of weight.

Commentary is an integral part of professional wrestling and Jim Ross knows how valuable it is. While speaking on Grilling JR, Jim Ross slammed announcers who use pronouns all the time and explained his reasoning behind it.

“I got hooked on these f***ing pronouns in the last couple of weeks in all kinds of sports about people,” he said. “Announcers, big-time announcers who make a good living relying on pronouns. It takes away from your work. Don’t use pronouns if you’re a broadcaster. Use names, use cliches. He’s the champ, he’s the tough guy, he’s this. But there are all kinds of ways to describe somebody instead of saying, ‘He. He did this.’ All right, what’s he doing? ‘He’s going to hit him.’ Okay, who’s he and who’s him?

Could he have said that, ‘Tully Blanchard, one-half of the tag champions is attacking so and so?’ That’s more tangible. I’m gonna come out of the kitchen and quit making my sandwich if I hear names. If I hear pronouns, you don’t move the needle. It’s just lazy, it’s freaking lazy. If any announcers are listening […] don’t use pronouns as you can keep from it. Sometimes you can’t help it, I get it. But if you can, avoid them and you’ll have a better broadcast.”

Jim Ross also doesn’t know when he will return to AEW television after his health issue. We’re hoping that Jim Ross will be able to make it back to television every week as fans want to listen to the WWE Hall Of Famer share his views as part of the AEW commentary team.
