Impact Wrestling’s Slammiversary event is going down on Saturday, Now, we know about one big possible surprise for the event.

During last night’s episode of Impact Wrestling on AXS TV, a segment featuring Scott D’Amore caught the attention of viewers. D’Amore hinted at the return of a significant figure from his past, who would be teaming up with him for the upcoming Slammiversary pay-per-view event. Their opponents will be Bully Ray and Deaner, and former NHL star Darren McCarthy (formerly of the Detroit Red Wings and Calgary Flames) will serve as the special enforcer.

PW Insider reported today that Eric Young was spotted at the Detroit airport, which aligns with the theory that he will be D’Amore’s mystery partner. If this proves true, it indicates that Young is no longer with WWE.

Eric Young had returned to WWE last year to work as a Producer. He was learning a few areas of the craft backstage at last report. Perhaps things have changed for EY.

Eric Young also tweeted out a couple of months ago that a big change is coming. We will have to see if that means he has left the company as well.

Fans with a long history of following TNA/Impact Wrestling will recall that Young and D’Amore were part of Team Canada during the company’s early years.
