On the July 4th episode of NXT, The Creed Brothers faced off against The Dyad in a high-stakes Loser Leaves NXT match. However, a twist unfolded when an unidentified individual wearing a red hoodie delivered a powerful headbutt to Julius, allowing The Dyad to secure the victory.
This surprising turn of events sparked speculation about The Creeds potentially being called up to the main roster. However, opinions within the company were divided, with some believing in their imminent promotion while others remained skeptical.
During a discussion on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer shed light on the situation, revealing that The Creed Brothers were not actually set to move up to the main roster. In fact, they recently appeared masked in a Schism segment on this week’s show, adding an element of mystery to their storyline.
““Yeah. I don’t know how long it’s gonna go, but there’s a whole….remember the whole group of mass dudes?” Dave Meltzer asked Bryan Alvarez. Then Meltzer expanded on NXT’s plan for the Creed brothers to stick around the brand.
“When they’re walking away, the last two are Brutus and Julius, totally hidden. You’re not supposed to know who they are, but it wasn’t so hidden because Ivy gave ’em a look and everything like that. But that’s, that’s what it was. Yeah. So they’re definitely coming back with, I dunno if they’re coming back under masks to avert the avoid, you know, the loser leaves town losers to come back under masks and do that gimmick, but, they’re, they are not going to the main roster, you know, so, when there were people there who were assured that in fact, they were not going to the main roster, and I thought, eh, it’s WWE. They lie to people to hide stuff all the time, but they were telling the truth on this one.”
The Creed Brothers could make a lot of noise on the WWE main roster when their call-up finally takes place. That being said, it appears that there are plans for them to stick around NXT for a little while longer. If anything, this will probably add a big surprise to a future episode of NXT.
NXT will hold the Great American Bash on July 30th. Only time will tell if fans have to wait until that event to see this storyline develop further.
The Creed Brothers could become WWE Tag Team Champions on the main roster some day, but how much more time do they need in NXT? Sound off in the comments to let us know what you’re thinking!
