Austin Theory is steadily building his reputation as one of WWE’s up-and-coming talents, showcasing his skills on television each week. The United States Champion worked hard to become one of the more reliable Superstars in the company right now. Now it appears some believe that WWE has failed Austin Theory.

The United States Champion beat John Cena at WrestleMania 39 earlier this year and this ended up shocking fans as they believed there was no way Theory was going to win. Of course, Theory carried forward with the momentum since then.

Ever since Austin Theory was called up to the main roster, Vince McMahon had plans to position him as a top star. After Triple H took over as head of Creative, it has been evident that those plans remain unchanged.

That said, lately Austin Theory’s booking has not been up to the mark. This has been reflected by fan reaction to anything he does now. While speaking during a recent episode of Keepin’ It 100, Disco Inferno stated that he believes WWE has failed Austin Theory.

“Well, Creative has failed him, right? Because he should be an easy guy to get a storyline right now. He’s U.S. Champion, like they’re not… It’s kinda weird they have nothing for you, but you have a belt. Why does he still have the belt?”

This is despite the fact that Austin Theory is now the fourth longest-reigning United States Champion in WWE history. Regardless, we’ll have to wait and see whether WWE will improve Austin Theory somehow.
