Trinity and Mercedes Mone were known as Naomi and Sasha Banks respectively in WWE. That came to an end when they walked out of the company, but there is a lot to that story.
Trinity embarked on a new chapter in her professional wrestling career with her Impact Wrestling debut at the June television tapings in Chicago. That started her time with a brand-new company, opening up new opportunities for her.
In May 2022, Trinity, alongside Mercedes Mone, walked out of WWE due to creative differences with Vince McMahon. At the time, they held the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships but were subsequently suspended and stripped of their titles until they negotiated their releases.
While Mone pursued opportunities in NJPW and STARDOM, Trinity is now gearing up to challenge Deonna Purrazzo for the Knockouts Title at Slammiversary this upcoming Saturday.
During an interview with the New York Post to promote the Impact Wrestling event, Trinity was asked if she could envision herself collaborating with Mone again in the future. That is something she’d like to see happen, but it’s all about what’s doing best for business.
“I wouldn’t want to do it with anyone else other than her, whatever that is. I’ll always do what’s best for her, what’s best for me and what’s best for the business. If it’s something that comes up that makes sense for the both of us, hell yeah. Me and her, we just had each other it felt like. Other than Tamina, Bayley checking in on us regularly, that was it. We just had each other going through that. Nobody understands the magnitude of what happened and what really went on and why we feel the way we feel and where we are but me and her and the people that were involved that day. It just goes to show how real our friendship is and how real all of this is.”
