Vince Russo Slams Cody Rhodes Over Hypocritical Gimmick

Cody Rhodes’ current run in WWE is amazing, and he has a lot of fans behind him, eager to yell “WOAH!” during his entrance. Although he’s still over, that isn’t working with everyone.

Vince Russo is famous for his blunt remarks. In a recent occurrence of his claim to fame, the experienced wrestling figure criticized Cody Rhodes, accusing him of hypocrisy.

Cody Rhodes, a second-generation superstar and the son of the legendary wrestler Dusty Rhodes, comes from a wrestling lineage. Dusty, however, did not have the same privileges, as he was born to a plumber. This is why Cody is often referred to as the Grandson of A Plumber.

During an interview on Legion of RAW, Vince Russo pointed out that despite Cody Rhodes embracing his title as the Grandson of A Plumber, his attire and overall presentation contradict this image.

“He says ‘I am the son of a plumber but then he acts the complete opposite. And I am like, ‘Then why are you boasting about being son of a plumber because obviously you don’t want to be a plumber. When he threw Darwinism in a promo, I am like, ‘What you are smoking bro?’ On top of that if you’re eloquent, bro, you’re in the wrong business, bro. This is not the business of eloquence.”

Cody Rhodes has a lot of things going for him in WWE, and outside the company as well. Only time will tell what’s next for his character, but he is enjoying a great run as a top babyface at this point.

Cody Rhodes could have a big destination ahead of him, as he continues to finish his story. Brock Lesnar will be his dance partner at SummerSlam, in a rubber match that is likely to steal the show.
